Hi ,

Am I Wasting My Time Here?

As a multi-passionate person, I always have new ideas and projects. I constantly want to learn more and discover something new.
Because of this, when I look back over my working life, I realise I often (mostly) don’t stick things out for the long term. When I start a new project or job, I commit, give something 110% per cent and often over-deliver (perfectionism?) But… I also often dip out at the 80 or 90 per cent complete mark. In my previous life as an architect, I would deliver a major milestone, then handover and let someone else finish it off.
Why? Because at that point, I feel like I’ve learned everything I can, I get bored doing what I know, and I’m ready to learn something new.

The problems with this are:
  • I never reap the full rewards of my work. Someone else often does.
  • I’m constantly in learning mode - which it turns out is exhausting.
  • I never really reach “goals” - but this hasn’t bothered me… until now.
  • I feel like I’m lacking a level of self-discipline I need to explore.

A part of me seems to want to dip out right on the verge of success. Right after I’ve done 80-90 per cent of the work and things are just about to fall into place, I stop, leave, or turn to something new. And leave everything on the table for someone else to collect. Self-sabotage? Unworthiness? A constantly recurring pattern in my journey.
This week it reared its head again. Disguised as the doubt of “no-one wants to hear what you have to say Liz!!”

Rest assured, I’ve quickly moved past this point, but hey, I’m human. We all have self-doubt, and I think it’s important to admit and share that. You can read my raw thoughts here in my latest blog as they happened.

For now, I’ve had a strategic flip on my work. I’m standing strong, re-committing and looking at how I can do things more efficiently, in less time, less perfect, less polished and more about the content. Not sure what that looks like - yet!! I’m splitting my time between this work, which is my passion project, and the work that pays the bills. I’m exploring self-discipline, resistance and my own “boredom.” It feels much better. We’ll see how that plays out.

What Is A Dark Night Of The Soul?

Was this a mini-identity crisis? A minor spiritual event? Yes. Possibly. Probably. I’ve definitely had many over the years. But each time, I come out the other side with more clarity, focus and certainty. It can be a bit of a shit show when you’re in it. This time it passed very quickly.
Strangely my content over the last few weeks has delved into the process of spiritual awakening - which, let’s face it, once we start, I think we’re experiencing to some degree at all times. Evident by this week.

This week’s video is all about “The dark night of the soul and how to get through it” as part of the process of spiritual awakening. Turns out it was timely advice for me!! I talk about…
  • What is a dark night of the soul - and why it is not what you might think?
  • What are the symptoms of a dark night of the soul - so you know if this is what you are experiencing?
  • What is the point of a dark night of the soul?
  • How long does it last?
  • How to get through it faster and easier?

Keep Waking Up !

I’ve said it before. We are on a journey of continual growth and evolution.
We are all a work in progress. None of us has all the answers. None of us has our shit sorted, and anyone who says they do needs to be questioned - because that’s not the human experience.
Wherever you are in your journey of awakening, stay curious, and keep asking questions. And remember that everything is temporary. You will always come out on the other side.

If you haven’t already, make sure you check out my new book Unity, how the universe, the world and YOU really work. It attempts to answer some of these big questions and curate the information in a way that makes sense to help you shortcut your journey of awakening and ascension.
If you've read some of it, hit reply and let me know your thoughts.
In the meantime, have a fabulous week. You’ve got this!!

PS… Make sure you check out next week's newsletter. We’re coming out of the darkness of awakening and delving into "Natural Law", morality, rights and right and wrong!!
